Pati Patni Aur Woh Do movie was released in theatres on 15 May 2026. It is directed by Mudassar Aziz and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Renu Ravi Chopra under T-Series Films and B.R. Studios. Mudassar Aziz has also written the story and screenplay along with Ravi Kumar. The leading actor is Ayushmann Khurrana, who plays the role of Prajapati Pandey, a forest department official living in Prayagraj. The leading ladies are Wamiqa Gabbi who plays his wife Aparna Trivedi; Sara Ali Khan who plays Chanchal Kumari, and Rakul Preet Singh who plays Nilofer Khan. Vijay Raaz and Tigmanshu Dhulia appear in important supporting roles. It is a Hindi romantic comedy that runs for two hours and two minutes. Rakul Preet Singh plays Nilofer, Praja’s colleague and Aparna’s friend who also gets dragged into the confusion. The three leading ladies have natural screen presence but the writing lets them down. Prajapati Pandey lives a simple life in Prayagraj with his wife Aparna. Everything is normal until Aparna, who is a journalist, reports that politician Gajraj Tiwari’s son Sunny is dating a Muslim girl. Photos show the girl wearing a hijab. This causes a mini scandal. What Aparna does not know is that the girl is actually Chanchal, an old friend of Praja from Benaras. Chanchal only wore the hijab to hide her identity from goons. Feeling guilty that his wife’s report caused this mess, Praja decides to help Chanchal. He lies to Aparna about going to Kanpur for work and instead shows up with Chanchal at public places in Benaras pretending to be her boyfriend. Gajraj’s goons photograph them together but are not fully convinced. So Chanchal forces Praja to check into a cheap hotel posing as lovers. The hotel gets raided by police and everyone with fake identities is arrested.

In Prayagraj, Nilofer gets a distress call from Praja asking her to bail him out. She agrees but threatens to tell Aparna about his so called infidelity. Praja chases Nilofer to explain the truth but Aparna spots them together in Benaras and becomes convinced that her husband is cheating. Back home, Praja is assigned to capture a wild wolf in Benaras. He goes there with Nilofer and his team and makes one final public appearance with Chanchal at a family wedding where he announces their engagement. Sunny hears this news, kidnaps Praja to interrogate him, but the goons catch them in a compromising situation and assume both men are gay. Gajraj now believes Praja was the secret hijab wearing girl all along. The chaos keeps spiraling until everything explodes in the climax.

This film was not made on a massive budget and it does not pretend to be a big spectacle. It is a mid-sized commercial comedy that keeps production costs under control by focusing on dialogue and performances rather than lavish sets or heavy visual effects. The films has an estimated budget is around ₹50–60 crore. The shooting took place across North India, including a major schedule in Prayagraj. The film faced a brief disruption during outdoor shooting when the crew clashed with local residents but production continued smoothly after that.

The box office numbers have been decent considering the mixed critical reception. The film collected over nine crore rupees on its second day alone, according to reports. With Netflix already holding the digital streaming rights and the film premiering on the platform from July 10 2026, the revenue streams are well covered.
