Top 10 Best Romantic Web Series (2026 List)

Here are our top 10 shows that are capturing hearts this week across various languages and genres.

1. Bridgerton: Season 4

This season, it’s all about Benedict Bridgerton, who is played by Luke Thompson, but has never had the urge to marry. But that’s not the case when he encounters a mysterious woman in a mask at a ball that night and can’t seem to stop thinking about her. She is revealed to be Sophie Baek, (Yerin Ha), a maid whose life is far removed from that which Benedict is used to. As they grow closer, they must come to a decision, whether love is worth sacrificing everything society expects of them.

It has all of the fancy ensembles, ballroom scenes, drama setup and the tension building that are to be expected of the franchise, not to mention a sweet romance between different classes that is entirely believable. This is exactly the same as the first few seasons of Bridgerton, except it’s a more subdued and grounded pair who are getting their moment in the spotlight.

2. Heartbreak High: Season 3

This show takes place in a High School setting in Australia, where a group of teens are experiencing friendship, first loves and the repercussions of a secret “hook-up map” that is exposed to the entire school. The characters Ayesha Madon and James Majoos portray in Season 3 have to face the fall-out of the decisions they made in the previous seasons and determine who they want to be with.

This is the one thing that makes it stand out, and it’s because it’s honest. The show isn’t afraid to show awkward and painful and confusing moments of young love, and balances those moments with really funny moments. It has an IMDb rating of 7.7 and is one of the more favorably reviewed shows on this list, and it may be a solid choice for those who want romance in their show but not a romance story, as it tackles real teenage chaos.

3. Spooky in Love

The Korean TV series has two lead actors, Park Eun-bin as Cheon Yeo-ri, a hotel heiress who can see ghosts, and Yang Se-jong as Ma Gang-wook, a prosecutor who is terrified of ghosts. When the two are put together on bizarre, supernatural cases they clash personalities all the way, and it’s only a matter of time that the tension melts into something more.

The show is crafted with a mix of mystery, light comedy and just enough fantasy to keep things unpredictable (but not so much as to lose focus on the romance at its center). Great choice if you are looking for a love-story that does not take itself too seriously, but has enough twists to keep you watching beyond 1 episode.

4. The Map of Longing

This Spanish series does not begin with a meet-cute, but rather, a place of grief. For years, Greta has thought that her mission was to save her sister Lucy from leukemia. At Lucy’s death, she leaves behind a game called The Map of Longing, one that will help Greta come to terms with her loss and find her own way.

En route, Greta encounters Will, a mysterious young man with his own painful past. Their connection takes time to develop, and is formed through their shared loss and vulnerability, not their instant attraction. It’s more of a slow-burning, emotional watch, and less of a romance than it is about a healing journey, so it is better suited for fans who would prefer a romance with some heart to it.

5. Heated Rivalry

Two hard-fighting professional hockey players, disciplined Canadian Shane Hollander and flashy Russian Ilya Rozanov, live their professional lives as on-ice rivals, but their off-ice lives are a hotbed of passion and seduction. It takes 10 years to tell and doesn’t rush their relationship, the story follows both of these guys from their rookie days to their days as league superstars.

Instead, it allows for a build-up over seasons, championships and setbacks. It’s a slow burn, layered romance that’s sure to resonate with fans of sports dramas, rivals to lovers, and hidden-relationship plots with high stakes.

6. Every Year After

This show is a six-year journey through the past, and a single-week journey in the present, of two people who were once inseparable: Persephone “Percy” Fraser and Sam Florek, two friends who spend summers together in a lakeside town. One error rips them apart, and 10 years later, they are reunited when a call is received from one another.

It’s the dual timelines which make this one interesting, watching their whole history come back to them flashback style in time, and then the present-day story forces them to face that whatever went wrong between them is happening now. It’s a sentimental and heart-wrenching story for lovers, long-held regrets and second chances.

7. Museum of Innocence

Set in Istanbul from the 1970s, this Turkish series is based on a young man, Kemal (Selahattin Paşalı), who is engaged to be married to a young woman from a rich family. All changes when he falls in love with Füsun (Eylül Kandemir), a young family member from a poor family.

It starts as a passionate affair and becomes a life-long obsession; Kemal gathers objects related to Füsun to cling on to what they had. This is a more serious, less typical, than most of these shows on the list; more akin to a literary romance of tragedy than anything else, but full of the details of the period and emotional depth.

8. S&X

It is a series from Japan based on a manga, about a sex therapist, Ichito Shimotori, who treats those who have problems with their intimate parts, but are unable to discuss such things with anyone else. He is condemned and ridiculed for his career but is honest and attentive to every patient; he is suffering from a fear of his own that no one seems to know.

The show doesn’t follow the standard format of two leads falling in love; instead, it allows intimacy, connection and vulnerability to be examined through various relationships and storylines. It’s a more grown-up, more considered and more thought-provoking watch for customers who want a show that takes romance and intimacy seriously and doesn’t simply use them as a setting for the action.

9. Fake Profile: Season 3

The story starts when Camila finds a man who appears to be her Prince Charming on a dating platform, and their passionate love affair is almost too perfect, which of course, it is. When she arranges a meet up with him in person, she finds herself in a much more dangerous situation than anticipated.

This season really has a thriller feel to it, with romance, deception, secrets and threats. A great choice if you’re looking for a more serious and, more suspenseful, love story, particularly in case you are curious about the dangers lurking in online dating.

10. Second Marriage

This is a Telugu family drama which is about two people who are given a second chance at love after they’ve already suffered heartbreak. While they attempt to make a new life for themselves as a couple, pressure from family expectations, judgment from society, and unresolved feelings from the past are not particularly easy to overcome.

The film is emotional and realistic rather than melodramatic, which is a great value for fans of more grounded love stories that are more in keeping with reality than action-heavy ones.

Where to Watch These Romantic Web Series

The shows on this list are all available on Netflix which is by far the most extensive list, ranging from Bridgerton to Museum of Innocence to Spooky in Love. Heated Rivalry and Every Year After will be available on Prime Video while Telugu family drama Second Marriage will be available on ETV Win. When creating a watchlist, it is important to find out if the platform is available before subscribing to something that is unnecessary.

It also aids to look into the language selections, as some shows offer subtitled or dubbed versions according to the location. Regardless of what platform you opt for, there’s a strong romantic web series waiting for you to watch, in whichever mood and language you are in.

Final Word

From a royal romance to a ghost hunting romance to something darker, this list has a little bit of it all. Every show is in a different style, so choose according to your love story mood. If you liked these suggestions, look up some great romantic films to add to your list of movies to watch, as there are several coming up soon.
